Greetings from the Great Lakes Medieval Tournament & Faire!
Each summer, Everton Scout Camp is transformed into a living, breathing village of 15th-century England. Knights clash in the lists, nobles feast by torchlight, merchants barter, musicians roam, and hundreds of guests step through the gates expecting to be transported completely into the year 1421.
That transformation only works because of the performers. We are reaching out to local theatre groups to invite your members to join us as volunteer actors for this year’s Faire, taking place July 10–12, with a rehearsal evening on July 9. This is a highly immersive, interactive performance environment where actors do far more than stand on a stage.
They become townsfolk, guards, nobles, clergy, peasants, rogues, and storytellers living among the guests throughout the day.
This opportunity is ideal for performers who enjoy:
• Improvisation and audience interaction
• Historical or fantasy settings
• Physical, character-driven performance
• Collaborative ensemble storytelling in a festival atmosphere
Actors may be involved in scripted moments such as the Opening Ceremony, the Nobles' Feast, roaming street scenes, comedic pub encounters, tournament commentary, and ongoing narrative threads that unfold across the weekend.
What we provide:
• Full character roles and backstories within our 1421 setting
• A rehearsal night to understand the world and storylines
• Meals and water during performance hours
• A truly unique performance experience
What we ask:
• Period-appropriate costume (we can supply if needed)
• Commitment to staying in character while on site
• Comfort engaging with the public in an improvisational setting
• A positive, collaborative spirit
Whether your members are seasoned stage veterans or enthusiastic newcomers, this is a chance to practice immersive theatre, historical roleplay, and large-scale interactive storytelling with hundreds of guests. If this sounds like something your group would enjoy being part of, we would love to speak with you and provide further details.
Thank you for supporting live performance and helping us bring history roaring back to life.
Warm regards,
Justin Moses
